Buy a Nintendo NES Console Online

If you’re looking to purchase a new Nintendo NES then you have several options, some of which are slightly shady.. and some of which aren’t. Here are the ways we recommend:

  • Buy from eBay. An auction always has the best prices and you can easily view buyer feedback and see how many other consoles they’ve sold. Also, this way you’ll get some games and accessories normally as well.
  • Buy from an online store specializing in old video game systems. There are tons of these online, but they’re expensive and very rarely will give you extras included in the price.

When looking to buy, make sure you purchase a console with a new 72 pin connector installed. Anything else runs the risk of giving you the dreaded flashing red light issue that NES has and possibly will need to be replaced soon anyway. You can pick these up for about $8 each (shipped normally) and are a breeze to install. A future article will include step by step installation information for your perusal. Make sure to check out Excitebike NES too, it’s a great game for starters.

Once you get the system (an average of $50 or so) unpack it and hook it up immediately as many sellers have stingy return policies. You’ll want to identify any issues quickly and have the issue resolved either by receiving a replacement console or crediting you the cost of the part that needed fixing.
